BOULDER, CO (April 18, 2019) – Boulder, Colo.-based Caplan & Earnest LLC announced today that eight of its attorneys were named Super Lawyers, a designation by Thomson Reuters that recognizes the top lawyers in Colorado.
Recognized as Super Lawyers in 2019:
Sheryl Bridges specializes in health care law with experience in medical malpractice, contractual disputes, professional licensing, and related employment matters. She has also counseled clients on health care regulations including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), as well as risk management and employment practices, including practice policies/procedures and employee handbooks.
Barbara Glogiewicz is a member of the firm’s litigation and health law practices. An accomplished trial lawyer, Giogiewicz often works in complex and emotionally charged cases of medical and dental malpractice defense, healthcare litigation and regulation, medical negligence defense, and hospital and long-term care defense.
Brad J. Hendrick leads the firm’s immigration law practice, focusing on employment-based immigration, including corporate and individual counsel for hiring and compliance, visas, permanent residence status, citizenship, training, and best practices for organizations.
Meghan E. Pound leads the firm’s health care law practice and practices across a variety of complex litigation matters, particularly focused on defending hospitals and other medical professionals accused of civil rights violations, employment discrimination, or other wrongdoing.
Linda Siderius specializes in representing organizations and licensed professionals before federal and state regulatory agencies in administrative proceedings, both defending and prosecuting matters.
Douglas Stevens focuses on civil litigation matters, including medical malpractice, construction, recreation, personal injury, trucking, insurance bad faith and coverage, and more. He also drafts contracts and releases for use in maximizing liability protection for his clients.
Stu Stuller focuses his practice on appeals in state and federal court, litigation, constitutional law, and general counsel for public school districts, playing a substantial role in more than 30 cases that resulted in published decisions.
Laura Wassmuth specializes in health law with a focus on litigation. She represents hospitals, healthcare providers, and medical organizations in civil disputes throughout Colorado’s state judicial districts and federal district court, as well as before regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
In addition, Thomson Reuters named Caplan & Earnest associate, Matt Ullrich, a 2019 Rising Star for the second year. This award is given to lawyers 40 years old or younger who have been in practice 10 years or less. Ullrich has deep experience in not only telehealth, but also in providing counsel to hospitals, long-term care facilities, home care agencies, behavioral health providers, clinics, managed care organizations, and practitioners.
Selection for Super Lawyers is based upon a multi-phase process that includes peer nominations, an evaluation of the candidates by a third-party research group, and a peer evaluation by respected attorneys working in the same practice area. Attorneys selected for the list represent only five percent of lawyers in Colorado.
“Caplan & Earnest has held the honor of being one of the most respected law firms in the state since 1969,” said Jim Branum, managing partner at Caplan & Earnest. “That is entirely due to our stellar staff of attorneys who continue to elevate the work we do on behalf of our clients across many sectors.”
