Caplan & Earnest Welcomes Dakotah Novak to Health Law Section

Attorney Dakotah NovakCaplan & Earnest LLC is pleased to announce that Dakotah Novak has joined the firm’s Health Law section as an attorney in its Boulder office. 

Dakotah brings extensive experience in medical malpractice defense to the firm. Known for her ability to deliver accurate risk assessments and pragmatic legal advice, she is a dedicated advocate for healthcare professionals who understands the unique challenges faced by physicians, dentists, nurses, and other healthcare providers. 

Throughout her career, Dakotah has played key roles in litigation matters with an emphasis on targeted written discovery, effective motions practice, and relevant expert witness review. She has participated in all stages of litigation including pleadings, motions, discovery, hearings, and jury trials. She has successfully advocated for medical professionals responding to complaints filed with regulatory bodies such as the Colorado Medical Board, Colorado Dental Board, and Colorado Board of Nursing.

Prior to joining Caplan & Earnest, Dakotah served as a medical malpractice defense attorney at Sharuzi Law Group, LLC, and Hall & Evans, LLC. Her legal background also includes internships at Pinkowski Law and Policy Group and the Idaho Office of the Attorney General. While pursuing her law degree, Dakotah gained valuable experience as a student attorney in the University of Colorado Law School’s Technology Law and Policy Clinic. 

Dakotah earned her J.D. degree and a Health Law and Policy certificate from the University of Colorado School of Law, complementing her bachelor’s degree in integrative physiology from the University of Colorado Boulder. She is admitted to practice in Colorado and in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.
