Dakotah Novak is an exceptional litigation attorney and advocate for health care professionals known for her ability to deliver accurate risk assessments and pragmatic legal advice. Based in our Boulder office, she specializes in medical malpractice defense and understands the unique challenges faced by physicians, dentists, nurses, and other health care providers. She practices as part of the Caplan & Earnest Health Law practice.

Prior to joining the Caplan & Earnest team, Dakotah was a medical malpractice defense attorney at Sharuzi Law Group, LLC, and Hall & Evans, LLC. She also served as an intern at Pinkowski Law and Policy Group and the Idaho Office of the Attorney General. While in law school, Dakotah served as a student attorney in the University of Colorado Law School’s Technology Law and Policy Clinic.

When she’s not searching for the next plant to add to her extensive collection or working on her latest sewing project, Dakotah enjoys spending time with her wife, dogs, and parrots.

Dakotah earned her J.D. degree and a Health Law and Policy certificate from the University of Colorado School of Law. She earned her bachelor’s degree in integrative physiology from the University of Colorado Boulder.
