Caplan & Earnest Adds Experienced Attorney to its Family/Divorce Law Practice

Tim Johnson headshotCaplan & Earnest has added attorney Timothy L. Johnson to the firm’s Family/Divorce Law practice. Mr. Johnson has significant experience counseling clients on issues related to family law, criminal defense and protection orders.

Prior to joining Caplan & Earnest, Mr. Johnson spent 20 years as a Deputy District Attorney in the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted more than 100 felony trials ranging from domestic violence issues to complex white-collar crimes to consumer-related cases. He has appeared on several national television shows related to his investigations while at the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office. He also handled a variety of cases related to family law issues while with another law firm in Boulder County.

Mr. Johnson earned his J.D. degree from the University of Colorado School of Law, where he won the Joel H. Greenstein Award for Excellence in Trial Practice. He also earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he was a prestigious Boettcher Scholar. Mr. Johnson is active in his community and has been recognized with the Safe Shelter of The Saint Vrain Valley Legacy Award, the Boulder YWCA Cabaret award, the Colorado District Attorney’s Council (CDAC) Faculty of the Year, and the Beth Haynes Award Special Recognition Award for contributions to Domestic Violence Prevention and Prosecution.

The addition of Mr. Johnson means Caplan & Earnest now has 35 attorneys focusing on eight practice areas – Education Law, Health Law, Litigation, Immigration Law, Business Law, Compliance & Workplace Investigations, Estate Planning/Probate/Wills/Trusts and Family/Divorce Law.
