Nathan Fall is an attorney in Caplan & Earnest’s School Law practice who represents school districts and other public entities on legal issues that arise in complex and highly regulated environments. Nathan supports clients in the areas of employment and labor matters, public sector governance, contracts, compliance, civil rights, Title IX, public records, and litigation management.
Nathan brings a practical understanding of the day-to-day demands facing school districts and other public entities. Before joining Caplan & Earnest, Nathan served as legal counsel for Greeley-Evans School District 6 in Northern Colorado, where he advised district leadership on complex and high-exposure matters and led the district’s Legal, Compliance, Title IX, and Risk Management departments. In that role, he supported the development and interpretation of board policies, handbooks, guidance documents, training programs, and district-wide procedures. He also advised on leases, vendor and software agreements, real estate contracts, intergovernmental agreements, and data-privacy contracts.
Nathan managed outside counsel, investigated and responded to complaints and public records requests, supported the district’s truancy process, and reviewed and interpreted collective bargaining agreements. He also worked with lawmakers and the district’s lobbyist during legislative sessions to advance the district’s interests.
Nathan began his legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Susan Blanco of the Eighth Judicial District of Colorado. Earlier in his career, he worked with the Colorado Education Association, assisting union attorneys representing teachers and administrators in state, federal, and administrative proceedings. He also served as a legal intern with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, where he investigated complaints involving discrimination based on gender, race, national origin, and disability in publicly funded schools.
Nathan’s experience working inside a school district gives him particular insight into the intersection of legal compliance, policy implementation, employee relations, student rights, board governance, and district operations.
Outside of work, Nathan enjoys spending time outside with family and friends. He also likes to cook but mostly likes to just eat or think about food.
