Caplan & Earnest Elects Sheryl Bridges & Elizabeth Friel as Members

About Sheryl Bridges
Ms. Bridges practices in Caplan & Earnest’s Health Law section, where she represents health care professionals including physicians, nurses, mental health providers, dentists, physical therapists, among others. She has extensive experience representing licensees before their licensing bodies, starting at the point of initial inquiry by the licensing body and/or analysis of a self-report obligation all the way through to a hearing in Colorado’s administrative courts. Ms. Bridges also has extensive litigation and counseling experience outside of the licensing arena. Her litigation experience includes representation of health care professionals and others in state and federal courts, in the appellate courts, and in arbitration.
Ms. Bridges earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado Boulder and her law degree from George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School. She serves as a volunteer attorney for Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network (RMIAN).
About Elizabeth Friel
Ms. Friel’s practice supports school districts and Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) in a variety of education law matters, emphasizing special education counseling and litigation. In addition, she assists school districts with general school law matters, including election law, effective board meetings, OML, Colorado Open Records Act (CORA), Teacher Employment, Compensation, and Dismissal Act (TECDA), Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), labor relations and others.
Ms. Friel earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and her law degree from the Boston University School of Law. Prior to joining Caplan & Earnest, she served as a staff attorney at the Colorado Association of School Boards (CASB), gaining experience in special education law, drafting amicus briefs, and developing school law resources for a variety of audiences.
